Shields will help protect your ship for longer, perks for the shields vary.
Engines will give your ship more speed to run around the maps with.
You can buy both for Credits and Uridium.

1,000 shield strength / 40% less damage to your hit-points.

2,000 shield strength / 50% less damage to your hit-points.

4,000 shield strength / 70% less damage to your hit-points.

5,000 shield strength / 60% less damage to your hit-points.

10,000 shield strength / 80% less damage to your hit-points.

These are the speed engines, helping get away from enemies and aliens quicker.

Increases ship speed by 2.
